Our Sources

Wondering where we find excellent, credible and up-to-date information about the animals that we discuss? Here are our go to websites – they are sites that we trust, but we do also verify the information that we get by checking multiple sources to make sure there is a consensus about the information we share. When we share primary research, we will either mention the source on that episode of the podcast, or include a link here or in show notes!

We encourage you to do your own research as well, and to remember that we are definitely not experts in animal science or animal care. Additionally, there are often disagreements among experts regarding specific details about care, taxonomy, data, etc., so in general, we either use the median or look for what has the most consensus amoung sources. When we have personal experience or preferences for care, we’ll discuss the reasons for that in the episode, and include supporting sources on the website, show notes or blog!
